The sock matching game

Want help with the laundry? Tell your little helper(s) to treasure hunt for all the socks. Once all the socks have been found lay them out and then tell them to look for shapes, textures, sizes & colors to match the socks.

Recycle milk jugs into fun masks for your kids!

I found this awesome idea posted by Sherri Osborn on About dot com. This is a fantastic recycling idea, fun craft and every child loves masks. Once you've cut the shapes out of the milk jug just let your child paint it. Poke a hole on each side & thread elastic cord through the holes to make a strap.

Shoe box = Treasure box

Photobucket

I acquired a lot of shoe boxes from a dumpster behind a shoe store & I've finished my storage project with them, for now, I like how they look and I'll probably make more as needed. I had leftover shoe boxes and instead of holding my clutter they became clutter. SO, instead of throwing them away I decided recycle them and turn them into entertainment for kids!

Me and the kids took our shoe boxes outside and spray painted them our choice colors. Then, once they dried we brought them in and the kids decorated them. We used paint and stickers but the possibilities are endless. You could use glue, ribbon, googley eyes, glitter, pom poms, wrapping paper, etc..etc..etc.. I like to let my kids color pictures in coloring books and then cut the picture out and glue it onto their projects as a decoration.

Here's a picture of the boxes outside drying.

Organizing

The best example of organization is a kindergarten classroom. Everything stored neatly in properly labeled containers where it is used in the home. My main living area lacks this kind of organization. I'm starting to fix this. I have begun wrapping shoe boxes in wrapping paper that I've bought at a dollar store and labeling them with cute cards attached to the outside. I got tired of the clutter that piles up when things don't have a home. I love the satisfied feeling I get when an untidy area becomes a center for awesome organization!!

DIY Aromatherapy Mask

Photobucket
I made this mask out of fleece and felt. It's filled with rice and I placed two spearmint and peppermint tea bags in it. You can put it in the freezer to make it cold or in the oven to make it warm. It smells so very good! I have it sitting next to me and it's radiating a mint smell.
